On Wednesday , the Robot Club took two teams to RAF Cosford to compete in the First Tech Challenge Robotic Regionals. Both teams faced difficulties at the start of the day but they continued to try their best and ended up making it through to the semi-finals of the day. Because of this, both teams have won a place at the First Tech Robotic Challenge Nationals that will be held in London. The students involved in this were Mikey, Radley, Noal, Millie, Connie, Isaac, Andrew , Max and Micheal. Other students had supported in the making and fundraising for the event but couldn’t make it on the day.
As well as this, one team won an award called the ‘motivate award’. This award is given out to one team at the event for showing continued enthusiasm throughout the day, even when facing difficulties. Students showed confidence in being able to explain and describe what they were building on the robot, not only to each other, but to the judges of the competition and engineering’s from organisations sponsoring the event. The award was given because the team were seen to be working together to overcome and work through problems as they occurred. This is a huge achievement for the school. The students on this team were: Micheal, Max, Radley, Isaac and Mikey.
