We are very proud of our robotics team for their commitment and performance in the Robotics Championship Finals held at Concord Conference Centre in Manchester. The robotics team has been working hard to build and programme a robot that had to perform autonomously (without being controlled by humans!) and a stage where the robot has been controlled using mobile phones connected to a controller. It was a tense battle against 100 teams; we entered the final stage of the competition in 3rd position and made it to the semi finals in 6th place! Our teams went under close scrutiny by judges who asked numerous questions about teamwork, building and programming of the robot and difficulties faced throughout the build.
Pupils melted the judges hearts when they declared “we started out as a team of pupils from all year groups and we have become a family”.
A huge thank you to Andrew Haywood who has volunteered his time to support our pupils through the process of designing, building and programming the Robot. He has become part of the Robotics Family
