On Wednesday 17th Jan Trentham Academy staff visited The Priory Church Academy to work on a creativity project using iPads. The project enhanced the learning on the class text, The Wind In The Willows. The Y5 classes directed their own movies, retelling elements of the story in their own words using stop motion animation and video editing.
Animation projects are a fantastic way to engage students and serve as a brilliant tool to assess and clarify understanding at the end of a book unit. They have the power to bring a novel to life and allow the students to learn in such an interactive way that they can remember the story. Every student, regardless of ability, has a role to play within the making of the animation where ideas are valued and contribution is rewarded by the end result. This is one of the most enjoyable and exciting projects that we have been involved in.
The quality of the artwork and models was superb. Mr Bunyan and Miss Antinoro would like to thank the school for being so enthusiastic and receptive.
