Trentham place great emphasis on sport and have winning teams right though the Academy. This includes athletics, basketball, netball, hockey, football, rugby, badminton, cross-country  and tennis.

The under 16 rugby team were involved in an epic encounter against Blythe Bridge High School, coming from a 15 point deficit to beat them 34-32. A great game of rugby.

The under 15 rugby team narrowly lost in the quarter finals of the County Cup to Newcastle-Under-Lyme School. The final score was 20 – 15. The team were unlucky to lose on the evening.
The under 13 rugby team are County Champions! Well done for an outstanding effort. On their way to winning the County Cup the following results were achieved:

crosscountry The following students were selected for the Stoke Schools Cross Country Teams. They took part in the County Cross Country race at Penkridge. Dan – Intermediate Boys Team. Samson and Isaac – Middle Boys Team. Harvey, Max and Lewis – Junior Boys Team
The under 13 netball team came second in the City Netball Tournament. The only team they lost to on the evening was St.Joseph’s College. An excellent team effort.

The under 14 and under 16 badminton teams have had a successful year in the North Staffordshire League. The under 16 team are undefeated and won their league having beaten St. Joseph’s, Excel Academy, Endon High School and Biddulph High School. The under 14 team came second in their league narrowly losing to St. Joseph’s.
The under 15 Basketball team are City Champions 2018-2019.

The Trentham Titans under 15 football team are having an exciting season.  In the City Cup they have beaten St. Peter’s 10 – 2, and they have also beaten Excel Academy 4 – 2in the County Cup.

The under 15 football team are County Champions! A truly outstanding effort.

Trentham Academy 5 – 3 John Taylor High School

On Tuesday 2ndApril, the team had more County Cup success winning the final against John Taylor High School. The final held at Stafford Town Football Club started with Trentham taking a 3 – 0 lead (Lewis 1, Eden 2). John Taylor High School then pulled it back to 3 – 3 and had all the momentum. Then a thunderbolt goal from Tom and Eden completed his hat trick to make it 5 – 3. An amazing performance, and school team sport at its best. Well done to all the students on the evening and the fantastic support from family and friends!
